Futuristic Arena Prototype

In the fall of 2024, I was awarded the Beyond Inclusion Scholarship to be part of the 8th cohort of the XR Foundations and Prototyping Bootcamp by XR Bootcamp. This intensive 5-month bootcamp was an incredible learning experience that gave me a strong Extended Reality (XR) development foundation. The program offered hands-on training with industry-standard tools like Unity and the Meta SDK, allowing me to develop practical skills in creating immersive experiences. I learned valuable techniques in C# programming, gesture recognition, and building intuitive and engaging user interfaces for XR environments. The bootcamp also emphasized project management, collaboration, and the importance of storytelling and user engagement in XR design. Overall, it was a transformative experience that enhanced my technical abilities and deepened my understanding of effectively merging creativity with technology.
"Futuristic Arena" is an XR fighting game prototype developed during the XR Foundations and Prototyping Bootcamp. The game features an innovative gesture-based combat system where players use hand movements to control elemental powers in a turn-based battle. Developed in Unity using C#, the project showcased my ability to integrate immersive technology with engaging gameplay while collaborating with a team under tight deadlines. The experience reinforced my skills in game development, XR design, and creating intuitive user experiences.
Augmented Reality
With the knowledge I acquired at Juneteenth Reality Hack 2024, organized by Damien McDuffie, I developed an AR experience to bring AeroSoul's powerful mural of Huey P. Newton to life. This project was not only technically challenging but also deeply meaningful, as it honored the legacy of the Black Panther Party.
AR activated using the Black Terminus AR app.
Snap Lens Academy
During the summer of 2024, I was honored to be one of 15 students selected to attend the Snapchat Lens Academy, an apprenticeship program for underrepresented community college students. Over nine weeks, we gained technical and professional skills in Augmented Reality using tools like Lens Studio, Blender, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and coding.
Every week, we participated in Lensathons, typically working in teams of three. We were given specific requirements and deadlines to design, create, and publish our lenses.

Below is the final project I worked on alongside Yuka Seike and Xavier Ngwala. We completed it over three weeks, culminating in a pitch presentation to 200+ people.

This is a snippet of a music video that I am working on.
I created it using Replikant and Unreal Engine.
Replikant is a fantastic software that allows you to create avatars and scenes in a straightforward and amicable graphic user interface.
